Varial

The Varial mk3 is our flagship, top of the line product. It is simply the best RCA-type cable on the market — and we back our claim up with a 60-day satisfaction guarantee.

The Varial was introduced in 2001, second generation in 2002 and the third generation (mk3) was introduced in March 2004. Refinements have been made to the cable geometry (better field relations within our B3 model), conductor area and metallurgy, as well as shielding and dielectric materials. The current mk3 Varial can be easily identified by the satin-black connector, it also has a relaxed feel and is very easy to work with.

Gede

Gede, named after musician Geddy Lee, is a whole lot of cable for the price. Quite similar to our flagship Varial interconnect both in terms of technology and performance it is a very easy cable to get along with, smooth and easy and inharently high resolution and wide bandwidth. It is also flexible. Without all the over-the-top hi-fi babble, let us say the Gede is a state-of-the art interconnect that will out perform all other cables save our Varial and improve your systems resolution, lower the noise floor and increase the realizem of played back recorded events.

Gede features our B3 cable geometery, silver alloy conductors, hybrid dielectric materials with Teflon as the primary insulating compound, fully shielded high RF conductance screen and the same high tolerance in-house cable manufacturing.

Gede also features our new solderless locking connectors and are terminated with the same process as Varial, details are: Signal circuits are cold forged to the center pin and the ground and shielding circuits are captured and wrapped with silver then crimped to the connector shell after which the connection is hermetically sealed with ferro-doped potting material. Our process and material selection yields a boom-proof connector/cable termination that not only improves significantly the overall fidelity of the cable but also makes it impervious to fidelity loss due to atmospheric exposure.

Oxyfuel

The Oxyfuel really delivers on our hype of high value. It is a pure, ripped down coax design featuring a large diameter, pure copper outer conducting path for center pin, microcellular foamed PE dielectric with a bonded high conductance, low magnitude aluminum shield. If you are looking for an interconnect that really will improve the fidelity of your system and don't need fancy hi-fi salesmanship, slick packaging or foo dust the Oxyfuel is your cable.

Termination is 100% solderless.

"...This has got to be about the best cable I have used. It does everything that a good cable should do and at a fraction of the cost of some of the other overhyped stuff on the market..." John Newsham (Auckland New Zealand)

The Oxyfuel was initially introduced in 2000 and was one of the three initial products offered by Zu. The second generation Oxyfuel was introduced in the Spring of 2004 with the only change being termination technique. The technology behind this product is from U.S. military aps with the majority of the cable being manufactured by Teledynamics. Final shielding, finishing and termination is done at Zu.

Disco

Disco rca interconnect (matched left / right pair)

Pil

The least expensive interconnect we make, and still it's better than most of our competitors over priced rebranded trash.

A balanced twisted pair design featuring PE insulation next to the conentric lay 20 gauge plated copper conductors with an ESD PVC coating and polyester braid outer. They really do sound quite good for the price, suprisingly close to the Disco in fact.
And so you might not think otherwise, the name is lifted from the ashes of the Pistols, if you don't have the album Happy? you should get it.

Varial XLR

The Varial XLR mk3 is our flagship diferential interconnect.

The Varial XLR was introduced in 2001, second generation in 2002 and the third generation (mk3) was introduced in March 2004. Refinements have been made to the cable geometry (better field relations within our B3 model), conductor area and metallurgy, as well as shielding and dielectric materials. More to be published.

Crux

"Your [Crux] cables have made me aware of the level of the noise floor that has been working through my 8 speaker, 3 amp system. It has been in the separation of frequencies that your cables appear to have made the most beneficial advance." RC Beckman (London LBC Radio)

Ash (SPdif)

Without rival and specifically designed and manufactured by Zu to meet the SPdif 75 Ohm digital audio specification, this cable is very capable in both the recording/mastering or home high end playback environments. Features include our B3 field geometry formatted for the SPdif spec., TFEP dielectric compounds, concentric lay silver alloy conductors, high magnitude copper shielding with 100% coverage, 100% solderless rca-type coax connectors (BNC connecors also available) and hermetically sealed, details are: Signal circuits are cold forged to the center pin and the ground and shielding circuits are captured and wrapped with silver then crimped to the connector shell after which the connection is hermetically sealed with ferro-doped potting material. Our process and material selection yields a boom-proof connector/cable termination that not only improves significantly the overall fidelity of the cable but also makes it impervious to fidelity loss due to atmospheric exposure.

Firemine

The inner conductor is a high conduction copper alloy deposit; which, despite its large diameter (roughly 18 AWG), has a very low conducting mass. (The conducting material is deposited on a core.) Results of this process are: unprecedented precision, excellent durability and efficient production.

Proper signal to shield (ground plane) spacing and insulating is a simple combination of common stock polyethylene and a proprietary catalyst which produces a micro-cellular foam. The combination of materials and processes yields a very uniform density dielectric. Standard foamed dielectric processes produce a medium with much larger cells and radial density variance, which results in zero cellular structure around the critical area next to the center conductor.

Our shield is bonded directly to the dielectric and also uses deposit technology to achieve the necessary attributes of high conductivity, ultra low mass, signal / ground uniformity and 100% high magnitude shielding.

"...I love everything about the [Firemine] cable as it plays with all kinds of music. I even tried it on some DVD movies and there was a difference for the better. It just gave movies more impact & realism. Thanks..." Ramesh Sanjay Jamal

Megular

"...I've purchased several items from Zu in the last few weeks and to say that I am pleased is an Understatement! Your cables are incredible! I replaced my XBox's Monster Component Cable with your Megular and the colors and graphics are so much more deep and true. The colors are so rich that I salivate when I stare at the screen." Eric Cartman.

Megular is based on the same technology as our Oxyfuel. It is a pure, ripped down coax design featuring a large diameter, pure copper outer conducting path for center pin, microcellular foamed PE dielectric with a bonded high conductance aluminum shield with all grounds being codependent to both reduce RF noise and DC off-set.

SV1000

SV1000 greatly improves video resolution and color saturation compared to other S-video cables and many component cables and interfaces as well. I don't think we need much more hype, you will see it or you wont -- either way we back it up with our 60-day satisfaction guarantee so go a head and give it a try. Hype... You wanted to know more didn't you?

This is not simply off-the-shelf cable with flexloom over it like nearly all the other marketed high end s-video cables out there; and like our other products this is our own cable, designed and manufactured in house. But not to claim all the credit, the cable geometry borrows from US military research in 2-channel shared dielectric space concepts and allows the cable to be both wide-bandwidth and low reactance and simultaneously insures that the two channels , chromatic and lumen, will have exactly the same electrical properties.

Secondary details: wire type is silver plated copper insulated with natural white Teflon, termination is via silver bearring solder and the cable is shielded via a 98% coverage aluminum braid shield terminated on the connector shells at both load and source for the best possible RF grounding. And of interest to the professional user, the connector / cable termination junction is potted to ensure years and years of trouble free operation.
